In order to avoid this
The Christmas Decorating! I dug into my WIP basket(s) and am appalled that I have 25 TWENTY-FIVE!! Yes, 25 WIP's. Check out my tab above for the 2012 WIPocolypse for pix illustrating the horrible truth of my Stitching ADD! I have to think of a way of attack! Should I start with the ones closest to completion or the opposite - the ones with the most to do? Should I worked on the oldest to the newest? Should I work in rotation or concentrate on one at a time? Oh the decisions.....Looks like there will be no new start anytime soon in my future! For now I have them ordered in a list on my sidebar listed by the amount completed.
I think I will hereby resolve no new starts until Retreat in May and then only if I have been able to cross off at least 5 from my list.
I should have stuck to my decorating!
Goodness sakes alive!!! Look at all those decorations! But, I love the way they are all organized and in nice containers.....
ReplyDeleteAs for the "attack">>when I started the "up for a challenge"blog for 2011 wips, I tackled those that were most completed...if I got burnt out on it, I took the next most completed.. Soon, I had made a dent. Mind you, this blog that you weren't starting new ones and promising to finish. These were true wip's you were wanting to finish....End result: I finished 10 of the 15 BAPS I listed. And, I MIGHT be able to complete 1 more in 2011...... Go for it!
Take care, Faye
wowwwwwwwwww 25 wip..yup..i think start with the ones closet to completion..then you can finish them quickly and list will be short..
ReplyDeletegood luck dear whatever you decide..
have fun with decoration..
hugs cucki xx
Thanks for reminding me that I had better begin organizing my WIPocalypse (?) list. This month is going to fly by.
ReplyDeleteP.s. You are not alone!
Bobbi
Robin I vote for starting with the ones with the least stitching to go. You'll finish more of them quickly and then be inspired to work on the ones with more to go. AND you will be able to finish 5 and start a new one at the May Retreat!
ReplyDeleteOh as I said to Coni (Spinster Stitcher) the other day, I'd be afraid, VERY AFRAID to count the WIP...even more afraid to count those hoping to become a WIP!! What a brave soul you are.
ReplyDeleteI love your header picture...that is so cool! Is it in your hometown?
First off, congratulations on organizing your X-mas items so well! Second, I'm right behind you in joining the WIPocolypse for 2012! I look forward to seeing everyone's progress.
ReplyDeleteGood job on organizing your WIPs! I know it's a shocker when you first learn the number, but knowledge is power! :o) Now you can make a plan and get them done.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with your no new starts resolution.
Holy moly, that's a lot of Christmas decorations!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd *THUD* 25 WIPs??!!!!! well, get to them, girlie!! Hehehehe.
Well, my friend, your WIPocalypse is quite shocking at first (but who am I to judge, really?!) but not so bad once you really dive in there. There are quite a few that have a good, solid start to them...start with those ones and get them out of the way! I always find that finishing builds morale :-)
ReplyDeleteWhoa. Christmas decorations! 0_o
ReplyDeleteHey, at least it's all nice and organized though, right?
Wow, nicely organized Christmas decorations you have girl! And just one big WOW for your WIPs. I think 2012Wipocalypse will have to be extended to 2013, maybe even 2014Wipocalypse...if we survive the 2012...
ReplyDeleteMan, I wish they sold containers like that here--we have our decorations in a few that we brought over from the US but most are in boxes and it looks a mess when we bring everything out.
ReplyDeleteThe WIPocalypse--ack. I'm still trying to formulate my plan of attack.
Ummmmmmmmm....good luck? LOL
ReplyDelete25?!? That's ALL? I have absolutely no discipline when it comes to starting new projects, so there's a good chance I have 4 times that many WIPs. I'm not looking forward to digging through the basket and totes and actually making a list of what I have. That means I'll actually have to be honest with myself. So far I'm pretty much just taken the ostrich approach and buried my head, and kept right on starting new things whenever the desire strikes.
